<3 Black v-neck dress from Laurie Foon
<3 Faux-fur coat
<3 Lucite bangles & knotted pearls

I dreamed about being an eccentric heiress & attending parties in the Hollywood Hills. It was fun. (Click the images for a huge version.)

  1. The highlight of my Saturday night was getting my bomber jacket from Japan! It’s very warm and very purple. :D

I’m sure YOU were the highlight of the night for the people at the pizza shop, no?

  2. Hmm, maybe, but external appearances would suggest that I only added fuel to their surly fire! ;D

    Bomber jacket sounds awesome!

  3. You have like the best face EVER.
    And, love the neon typewriter.
    Erratic glamour for all!
    x.

  4. Sephy — Hee hee! Thanks, I grew it myself!! (The face, not the typewriter…) Nice typewriter though, huh? I have a whole lot. I had to bribe my friend to drive out to the middle of nowhere to pick that one up. Totally worth it!

  5. I am confident you could fully pull off a typewriter hat.
When Mutant Office Supplies Attack! Keyboards jutting out of rib cages, photocopiers for bellies, a mouse dangling between the legs of an unsuspecting gentleman..
    Perhaps a theme for IDUD.

    Still, great typewriter
    x.

  9. LOVE the shirt/dress/shoes/typewriter combo!

I spent Saturday night watching the Spongebob Squarepants Movie on TV with my kids (“Ohh . . I’M a goofy goober, YEAH!”) and then I finished re-reading the 6th Harry Potter so I’m all set for next Saturday night. I’m so unhip. But having fun!!

    [Nessa: Whose Line = YAY!]

  10. i really love your bangles. i have not had any luck finding clear bangles around my town (there are colored clear bangles, but not just pure clear).

hope you have found your tarina ring!

  11. Well, my Saturday night was small, the boy and I had sat around baking a Cherry Dream Cake and then watched ‘Being John Malkovich’.

My Friday 13th, however, was spent at a costume party, dressed as Laura Palmer, all wrapped in plastic. I love playing dress-ups.

  13. I think I have a similar typewriter in pale blue. ;-)

My Saturday night = writing and playing with my dog, thinking about going to a party in Brooklyn but choosing to stay home and have quality time with two of my three roomies.

    Also…you look awesome.

  14. Nadine: I just finished re-reading the 6th Harry Potter as well. But that was my Saturday pre-tea time.

Saturday night was spent watching Her Minor Thing and imagining scenarios where I meet Christian Kane. Gotta love Kane.

  15. I’ve done the same thing re-read the 6th book and re-watched the 4th film to prepare me for when i see the 5th it’s been out for a few days already.. not allowed to see it yet apprently (not without my man rubbish)

My Saturday night was spent playing on the Wii and being scared of massive moths in my lounge. Fun all round

  16. i cant remember what i did on saturday. my memory is pretty bad. i spent today with my mum in the wairarapa looking in junk shops, and buying a wooden chair that you flip upside down and it becomes a ladder.

after that i came home and started planning her super surprise for her 50th birthday.

  18. Saturday night I went to see the Police in concert… amazing!

Gala, your look is amazing. When I was your age, I wore scarves all the time. I then buzzed my head and gave all my scarves away. Now that I have fun hair again, I’ve re-discovered scarves through you (thank you very much). Anyway, the other day I took a picture and once I saw my scarf, big sunglasses, and large bangles, I thought, “Damn, people are going to think I’m trying to be Gala.”

  19. Nessa — Congratulations on your first job! Did you enjoy it? & I loooove Whose Line Is It Anyway?, did you ever see the episode with Robin Williams? He is SO manic & crazy, it’s awesome. I adore him.

Retro.Bunny — Merci beaucoup! If you’re ever in Melbourne, you should come up & see it for yourself some time!

Nadine — Man, Harry Potter fever! My boyfriend has just started re-reading the 4th one, working his way through the series. I’ve never read any of them! He’s trying to push them on me, I will give in soon enough… & thank you ma’am!

Aimee — I think Ebay might be your best bet. I have to say I’m surprised they’re so difficult to find, but I haven’t seen them anywhere except the place I bought them. & yes, I found it! I spilled fabric cleaner on my hand so I took it off & put it on top of the dryer (of all places)!

Miss Jeskah Fatale — Cherry Dream Cake sounds GOOD! Yum. Your party sounds awesome too :>

    adele — Merci darling!

amanda lee — Yay for typewriters! I haven’t bought any new ones for a long time but my DREAM typewriter is an Olivetti Valentine. DROOOOOL. Love them. But they’re always hundreds of dollars & in weird countries, like Bulgaria, & the shipping would kill. Sigh. One day!

sarah — OOH tell us about her super surprise!!

jess — I love pyjama days. I basically spent Sunday in mine. & thanks!

tee tee — Oh my god, I love the Police! As in, uh, the band, haha! You must have had a brilliant time. & yay for scarves! I’m glad you’re feeling the love for them once more. I am dying to buy up a whole lot, they’re so great for transforming your look. xx!

  21. vanessa — You look fabulous! That dress is a beautiful colour, I’m glad you had a good time!

  22. So smoking kills but it’s still cool/glamorous/fashionable?

    <3 Anna Rose · Jul 16, 09:12 AM · #
  23. It’s a photoshoot, where I was (obviously) emulating a period in time. (See: turban, pearls, fur coat, typewriter.)

In addition, I am not a politically-correct role model, & I never will be. That’s not my game! iCiNG is about individuality & following your own path. Personal choice is a grand thing :> The world is a richer place for all our differences. People will do what they want when they want, regardless of our personal opinions…

    <3 Gala · Jul 16, 10:04 AM · #
  24. So we should all be redirecting our Harry-Potter-related comments to your boyfriend’s blog . . . ? ;-)

[Vanessa – lovely dress, gorgeous smile!]

  26. I remember seeing one of your vlogs where you’re smoking… did you quit?

    <3 Audrey Horne · Jul 16, 10:43 AM · #
  27. Nadine — Yeah, maybe! :D

    audrey — Merci beaucoup!

Audrey with a capital A! — I smoke verrrry sporadically. Like, one cigarette a MONTH, maybe. Even then, these days I only really do it in social situations. About 98% of the time I can’t be bothered/have no interest :>
