I’m feeling really summery today, even though it isn’t particularly warm! I went shopping with my mother yesterday… here’s some of my new schwag!

Long black skirt (new) — so happy about this, I have been dying for more long black skirts! This one makes me feel like a whirling dervish!

I love that you’re wearing one earring instead of two!! I’ve been dying to try that myself (having recently immersed myself in the 1980s teen-flick goodness that “pretty in pink” is! lol!). awesome, inspiring outfit; you really rock the long skirt/layered look! :)

Casey — Hahaha! You know what, I only have one ear pierced! I used to have it stretched & wear 0g jewellery, but since I took it out the hole has almost closed up to a normal piercing size. (Almost — a stud would fall through but anything dangly is okay.) My mother wants to take me to get the other ear pierced, I’m thinking about it but I don’t want to have to wear an ugly stud for a month while it heals! & also, merci beaucoup. I love long skirts so much!

ps: what do you use to hold bindis on… i want to start wearing them, but i don’t know how i’d get them to stick without, ya’know, super gluing them to my forehead! :P
Well, the llama wasn’t actually an analogy. I just thought it would be a perfect activity for such shiny lookin’ lass on (what looks to be) such a fine day over there. I, too, am curious about your methods of bindi-face-binding. I’m always afraid they will slip down onto my nose! So I never wear them…

Lou, dayna, Maddy! I have a leetle bottle of cosmetic glue which I apply to the back of the bindi, then wait until it goes tacky before sticking it on my head. You usually get a short grace period before it starts to actually stick, so you can move it to the perfect place. & then when you’re done, at the end of the day, just peel it off! Easy! I keep bindis forever, pretty much! & I buy them at Indian supply stores or weird hippie shops!
oh!!! the bindis i have are all reusable and restickable. i buy them from indian shops as well, but mine look like stickers and come on a waxy paper, so i just peel them off and pop ‘em on my forehead, or sometimes under my eyes (heh heh). i stick them back on the wax paper at the end of the day, and they can be reused for as long as they are sticky. then i guess it’s on to cosmetic glue. perhaps there are many different kinds of bindis out there though! :)
You look great! I especially like the skirt, the grey T, and the second photo.
If you do get your second ear pierced, you could try wearing a sleeper in it while it heals, and hanging things off the sleeper – that way you could change earrings without having to take them in and out. The hard part would be getting the sleeper in initially. Eeee!

gilda — Yeah, there are all sorts! I’ve seen some amazing ones in Melbourne which are huge, & also bindis for the belly button, ankle, etc.! I’d like to go & buy a whole lot more actually.

In the 80s, I didn’t just wear one earring, but I did wear three in one ear and only one in the other. Nadine, I was beginning to think I was the only “older” one around here. But don’t worry, we are not old.
I love the bindi! Can you tell me the name of you cosmetic glue?.......And/of where you get it!

(Okay…...maybe need to spell check a bit better next time!) As I said, I love the bindi and have several from an old friend and yogi of mine! I was never able to figure out how to make one stick for any legnth of time! I’m glad to see you wearing one! ANyway..that’s what I was trying to convey in my last comment!
Liz212 — I actually got a little bottle of it years ago, with some crystal “tears” done by Lancome. But I am sure you could just use false eyelash glue & be done with it!
