  3. I love it! I love the hood and the sheerness and the way it works with your fringe for a two-tone hairdo effect. The leggings pulled down remind me of Victoria Beckham! And the belt-worn-backwards is so clever. Also feeling the urge to get me some of those bracelets.

And Rosehip Oil is awesome! I use trilogy.

  4. Nadine — That’s the brand I bought. I like products from New Zealand. It makes me feel good to support my home economy!

  5. Aww . . . good on ya! ;-)

I use 5 drops on my face after cleansing. Depending on how my skin feels, I might put on moisturiser as well about one minute later.

  6. Oh wow, I love this look! It reminds me of Catwoman. In a good way. :)

  7. Hot!!!
    I love the heals!

What is the deal with the rosehip oil? Coming into winter here in Tokyo I am in dire need for something to stop my skin drying out! Off to google it!

  12. aaaahhh gala I love this outfit!!! I usually end up wearing all black because it’s all I feel I look good in so this gives me great ideas!!

    <3 Kelly · Nov 26, 09:56 PM · #
  13. Hi Gala,

Love the contrast between the all black and your georgous hair peeking out from under the hoodie!

    <3 Andj · Nov 26, 11:51 PM · #
  14. oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh.

youre like some fashion ninja destroying foes with your poppin silver accents in the belt, bangle and earrings.
and a black silhouette that surprises and intrigues with a hood and peekaboo blue fringe and layers but all so lean.

if I hadve seen your round smellbourne streets I think I wouldve stared…us melburnians are a little nutty for all black ensembles…
    xxoo

  15. I tried Trilogy Rosehip Oil when I was in NZ, and it’s one of the best things I have ever used for my skin. I couldn’t believe the difference- also, it smells so lovely! I hope it does the trick for you, Gala!

    <3 Alice · Nov 27, 02:45 AM · #
  16. ahh! i commented before but forgot to press submit! DOH!

anyways! Gala i love ur outfit! I also wear tights over heels too!!!! XD hi5 to that! It looks awesome with mary jane heels as well.

And my cousin recommended rosehip oil to me just last year. Its the best! I use it day and night. But during the day it gets a bit oily/shiny so I only use it at night now. It’s helped me during my ‘breakout season’ aka exam-cramming times!

    lots of love

  17. That is so cute, Gala! I love how your belt breaks up the silhouette, in a good way of course. :D Just curious, have your leggings, either your purple or black ones, cracked already? I wore my black ones once and they’ve started to crack a little around the knees and dulled where surfaces have rubbed against it the most. :(

  18. hahaha a “fashion ninja” yeah that’s it!! you look amazing Gala :)

  19. OMG!!! I love the hoodie and I thought that you were wearing some kind of boots at first n_n.

    You look FINE.

  20. luv it… very, very cute!!

  21. yes!!! thank you for giving me new ideas on how to wear my AA leggings! i’m not fond of the way they cut off at the ankle; i think they make me look short. but this is excellent! heels + skintight around the shins + looser pants around the thighs is always a good way to make your legs look slim and long.

  22. OHHHH Gala you look so foxy today!!!! Man, i could NEVER stand up on heels like that…. let alone walk! LOL

I tried to emulate your look with the waistcoat last night because I happened to have a pretty similar waistcoat [navy pinstriped tight-fitting jacket I had cut the sleeves off of a long time ago] I used to wear it either over a black or orange tight fit long sleeve shirt but had never tried this option :) I even had a cami like yours – white & bright blue stripes but it didnt look the same because my waistcoat had a much higher neckline :) Anyway I had fun, will e-mail you pics :)

i was wearing this over a flowy white dress which I feel so comfy in [I wear it both to sleep AND when I dress up! the day before I wore it with a purple tube top over it, it looked chic!] with white leggins with black polka-dots and blue&white stripy knee socks to match the cami, which ended up only being visible at the bottom of the shortish waistcoast but somehow it worked. I had off-white woolen ankle sockettes in my black “chic slippers” [low heel, open toe, fluffy feather lump on front] to off-balance the dark-colored waistcoat. yes I brought my slippers to the bar and took my boots off & put them on. I just HATE spending hours in my winter boots, with my feet sweating in them… :) bringing a plastic bag to put your boots in and hang them on a hook under your coat is my new idea for winter. Hey if I am going to spent 3-4 hours someplace, walking around, dancing, going up & down the stairs, playing pool, chess or checkers, eating sliced carrots etc I better be comfortable :) As you can tell this neighbourhood bar is more than a “bar” for the lot of us.. it’s a meeting place for a group of old friends as well as a sort of 2nd home :) . The boots need to be put in a bag you wont “miss” because of the calcium and sloot there is outside….. we just had our first snowstorm!! They spray salt in the streets to melt the snow and it makes that brown salty goo which is disgusting & attacks boots UGH it also makes the underside of cars RUST! then you get inside and its on the floor :( The woolen sockettes were to prevent cold feet because this bar is old & decrepit [in a good, friendly way] but the heat is not always …..how should i put this….. present?

I also brought my own teabags & tin of sugar….. not because I’m that cheap but I am broke. I do always tip even when ordering just a cup of boiling water. Hell sometimes I even go behind the bar and plug the kettle myself :) As you can see it is a very friendly bar. I might be organising a karaoké night there on Tuesdays…. fun! and I have dreams of getting together with people to put on a music show to accompany the coming out of a new issue of my zine :)

As for my hair I’ll say it had a look of “messy rhumballs” [the food]
I’ll e-mail you pictures :) they kinda got flattened by my headphones though so i told people they didnt really puff up in the oven… I was trying to make it look like hair shaped like cat ears but it didnt work :)
and I’ve been really enjoying the cupcake e-mails since I signed up
you know what? I think I’m not depressed anymore! It,s like since I let go of the person who was abusing me, my depression flew away??? I’ve been happy happy for days on row!!!!!! I’ve been free to speak and things come out of my mouth before I know it [I have to watch it actually not to hurt some people!] but it feels so good, to be able to live without the fear, and be 100% yourself and not one bit sorry for it.

And I started planning my Xmas party OMG and I still have a wall to paint in my place!! I am going to BUILD A MEZZANINE in my high-ceiling studio apartment…. it’s crazy :) I will also paint the ugly floor linoleum in metalllic GOLD AND glue bright colored mixed feathers ALL OVER the ugly stucco ceiling. And have fairy lights and tiny stars on invisible thread hanging across the top of the room where tyeh cant hit anyone’s head evenif they’re tall

AH PROJECTS! I LOVE HOME DECO!!!!!

Xmas lights started appearing!! (love it] It’s in less than a month!!!! I cant believe it thank god, I am a plan-ahead person & have almost all my gifts bought or made :) But my cards? my cards? I hand-made a different original card every year HMMMMM gotta start working on this! ok, I’ll stop babbling :) I LOVE YOU GALA why do you live on the other side of the planet or more importantly why is there not a global subterranean subway ultra-fast magnet-train-type TGV system where I could go and visit you in a few hours time & be back the next day? !!!! Your existence is a blessing to this world & I mean it

I’ve been proofreading this [& adding to it] for like 7 times… SUBMIT!

  26. wow gala i love this one! hoodie looks sweet with your hair poking out the front! tee hee! tell me though, when you were walking around in this gorgeous outfit, did your feet slip around in your shoes because of the leggings? if not, how did you stop it? everytime i wear stockings or leggings with heels my shoes fall off. tres un-classy.

ps i know its not thursday but today i love movie trailers! is there anything yummier than movie trailer? no.

  31. I was re-inspired after reading fruity’s words on the rosehip oil …

I remembered hating it after years as a youngling being forced to use it in lieu of moisturiser (my mother decided natural was better, but forgot about the attack of oily-teen skin!)

Used it last night, and woke up to plump, glowy, ultra-moisturised skin!

    Do it! Do it now!

    :)
