i love it. as a travel fiend, i have already done so much of this stuff, but i love that other people see traveling/exploring the lands the same way i do
keri smith is amazing!!! her books have again and again inspired me. yes…feel the world as a child, with lust and excitement, without fear and doubts. be creative, be curious, live life to the fullest ;)
This is brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!
It seems like a sort of child like intelligence, which is my favourite.
And it often seems like they know the most, love the most, live the most, and laugh the most. We should learn from them.
Weird, I do a most of these already on my own. It’s so much fun to go around and, judging by the looks on people’s faces, try to guess what they’re currently thinking, feeling, experiencing, etc.
Does that mean I’m a natural born explorer? It sure keeps life from being glum!
I was about to say, “Numbers so-and-so are my favorite” and realized that I really can’t choose, ha! Beautiful list, insightful advice and a great way to gain greater empathy for others.
i try to do this as often as i can – it truly does make a difference to a day. everything seems a lot brighter and more wonderful if you pay closer attention to it. the world is a lovely place that should be appreciated. thank you for spreading this!
What lovely sentiments! Keri’s work reminds me of that of Brian Andreas, whom I also adore. I especially love her piece about conformity: www.flickr.com/photos/kerismit….
Yesyesyes!
I have The Guerilla Art Kit, hours of mostly illegal fun. And I was only this afternoon telling my Grandma about all the stories going on around everyone, all the time. (She’s just discovered Georgette Heyer, and was wondering how anyone could keep coming up with more and more stories.)
Aww, keri. I love her. I have her book ‘Wreck This Journal’ {still need to do that!} & ‘How To Be An Explorer Of The World…’ Adore, adore.
She’s so inspiring! As are you.
xoxo
I love how you always find the most uplifting, inspiring, awakening stuff. I love, love, love it.
Whenever I come to your site, I’m reminded that life is beautiful & magical & with my imagination and inspiration I can turn my life into whatever I want. I’m really glad I found your site! Thanks Gala, you’re like an inspiration angel :)
Keri Smith was absolutely my life inspiration when I was younger. She’s great, and her book is completely worth the purchase, if you don’t have it already! :]
this reminds me of “Sophie’s World.” Being more observant and curious about the world, almost like you’re a child again. It’s very inspiring, it sucks to be jaded and cynical all the time.

Amazing. I love this book, I bought just last week & can not stop looking at it.
I love this post especially #4 I do that all the time. My philosophy is if you do not change your course you will experience the same thing all the time and will not experience anything new. I started doing that in college, one day I decided to go a different route to class and I met some really great friends and we are still tight til this day. Smooches!!!
so simple…so marvellous!

I love, love, LOVE this Gala :) I’m convinced that you’re a mindreader, too, because exploring is the numero uno topic on my mind at the moment!
I love this! I think I’ll print it out and put it up somewhere.
This is wonderful. I’m printing it to hang near my desk. Thanks!
