Oh, I’m such a music geek that there are hundreds! I was going to make you a mix CD, but I fear I am out of time. (I’m not even sure this comment will post!) Anyway, I’m a sucker for hypnotic riffs and strings, so most of the mine reflects that. Fae mentioned Paris, by Patrick Wolf, and I’m inclined to agree, but The Libertine is, if possible, even better, and sometimes there’s nothing as good as Tristan. On a similarly wolfish note, Radiohead’s A Wolf At The Door combines just the right blend of sultry riffs and hypnotism to get my skin prickling from the first few notes, and I lovelovelove the build up in Lullaby – The Cure. The Leaver’s dance – the Veils makes my nerves sing with moonlight and Venus in Furs – The Velvet Underground is always a good choice, with or without the S+M. Or, if you want to get straight to the point, how about a bit of Pulp? This is Hardcore checks every box….
