james&august Giveaway!
[ 23 May 2007 ]

Also known as, “Yay! Free things!”
iCiNG has teamed up with james&august of New Zealand for a giveaway extravaganza!
james&august are going to be giving away FIVE prize packs, featuring a hoodie & a pair of striped knickers, as pictured above — though of course, you will have new ones!

All you need to do is email me telling me what you would wear with the hoodie! The most exciting & creative answers will win!
The hoodies come in cherry (bright red, all sizes) & pink (which is what I’m wearing — only available in [a very generous] size 8), & the knickers come in black/white, green/white, red/white & pink/white. You can take your pick, all you need to do is tell us the size you’d prefer!

I can tell you from personal experience that both items are immensely comfortable & fun to wear. I LOVE mine!
You have a week to send in your answers (competition winners will be announced on the 31st of May), so hop to it!
Super-love & cupcakes,
Gala ![]()

Amy — gala at galadarling dot com!
Nadine — Thank you sweetheart!
Just wanted to say thanks for being so great! It’s allergy season here in Canada and I woke up feeling awful but then this adorable post and the message from the universe (that you recommended!) cheered me right up! Keep up the good work :)
Wow, that website’s exceeded their bandwidth limit!
Ooh, what would I wear, what would I wear…but do they ship abroad to winners?
the photos are really cute! i hope they ship to the states, my email is on it’s way to you as i type. :)
Hey Gala,
This has absolutely nothing to do with the above post (although you have no idea how much I wish I looked that good in a hoodie and knickers), but it was just to say that I got back from Tokyo yesterday and what was inside my front door? The Lumiere t-shirt you got hold of for me – thanks so much! I’ve already worn it and am amazed it was free with a magazine (you should see the tat they try and give away with UK magazines!)
Thank you thank you thank you!
Emma x
Alex — Aww, yay! I’m glad! Allergy season is AWFUL!
E — Isn’t that hilarious?! Yes, they certainly do ship overseas, so never fear!
travelling_mango — Hooray! I’m so glad you like it, it’s pretty cute huh?

you have email and a piccy!!! cute or CUTE?!?!? MUAH xoxo
Oh how fab! Love the pix!
ciao dahling!
The excitement of this giveaway has made my day! Thanks Gala and james&august! x
Are these sizes comparable to American or European sizes? An American size 8 is very, very different from a European size 8! Thanks :)
An 8 in NZ is about as small as it gets, & a 16 is considered a large, or thereabouts. james&august’s sizing is quite generous. You can always tell me whether you’re an S, M or L & I can pick for you :>
Hello Gala’s readers!
I fixed the james&august website as soon as we noticed — too many visitors!
Yes, we ship worldwide, so the competition is open to everyone :D
The sizes listed are NZ sizes… which are different to both American / European / Australian sizes… I think. I will look into it and report back :)
Katie (from james&august)
yay! lolz, sally ridge’s brand is surprisingly awesome. the colours are magnificent and they sell the underwear at farmers for a great price. i like to wear their colourful singlets as outerwear :D
Looks like my question will be answered soon… I didn’t even think about the sizes being drastically different until after I entered. ;)
Aimee — I’m having trouble finding a conversion chart or whatever online… Might just have to get someone to take some measurements!
Ray — That’s what I use the singlets for too! Oh, I just looked at your page, you know Ruby and Charlotte etc!
If anyone wants to get in touch with me directly my work email is katie at jamesaugust.co.nz
OOOH!
Those are adorable!
oh cool, gotta love those colours. yeah i know ruby! i only know champ through the space as of yet lol.
i saw you on gala’s myspace page, i’m guessing
it’s you. gaaaahhh cherry bomb comics is awesome!
Oh poo, I know a size 8 wouldn’t fit me, unless it’s really REALLY generous. I can fit a size 10-12 in AUS/NZ sizes..hmm..damn boobs.
Ray — Yep, that’s me! And yeah the Cherry Bomb kids, they’re my crew :)
Raindog71 — I would usually wear a size 10 (NZ) top and the size 8 hoodie is quite loose on me.
Hope that is of some help!
you look great..that hoodie is coo cute
International sizing is so confusing.
A 2 is about as small as most things get in the USA... I’m anywhere from a 4 to an 8, depending on if it’s fitting in the hips or not (hehe) but God only knows what size that might be in New Zealand. :(
phew… I have my entry in… I can relax now.
Oh ok thanks Katie, good to know. Now to think up a most awesome outfit to wear it with.
Oh crumb, for some reason I read this as entries turned in by the 31st. Oh well. I had an excuse to do a sketch of the outfit I would have worn! Yay creativity.
