of course i bought two podcasts last night for 12 dollars each and today you post this! and i don’t know about the ‘delivered immediately’ thing…it’s been nearly 24 hours since i ordered my two podcasts and they still haven’t been sent to me.
Gala – just curious if you (or another commenter) can assist me in d/l-ing the audio file from the link provided instead of listening to it while connected to the internet. I would love to be able to transfer it to my ipod for listening on transit.
I must be missing something..
allison- i had trouble with this at first also! i received my love and sequins and all i wanted to do was put it on my ipod so that i could listen to it while traveling or falling asleep. this is what i did:
1) Open Itunes
2) Click on file->import
4) choose the file you want to import (you have to open the file from gala’s e-mail by right clicking and choosing
> download linked file as> then download it to your desktop or whatever)5) After selecting the podcast, the file will be imported
6) connect your ipod to the laptop
7) Click on sync
this should work!! best of luck

Yay! I was looking for a Valentine’s present for myself, I clicked over here for some amazing Radical Self Love, and lo-and-behold: Love & Sequins! Now all this day needs is copious amounts of chocolate to be truly blissful… TO THE KITCHEN!!!
iza- is there an ‘open with itunes’ option? this will allow you to open it in itunes and then all you need to do is sync your ipod:)

I’ve been debating whether or not to buy a whole year’s worth of your podcast for well over a week, but $84 was just outside of my comfort zone. I though to myself that I wouldn’t mind paying $5 per episode, but more than that and I couldn’t justify it to myself. And lo and behold, you reduced it down to my affordable level!
I’ve just purchased a whole year and can’t wait to listen in :)
If you’re using Firefox, you can click ‘Tools, ‘Page Info’, the ‘Media’ tab, and then press ‘Save As’. (You have to be on the page with the audio file of course!)
Just putting them all on my iPod now, I’m so super exciting to listen to these.
Naww Gala if my credit card wasn’t full I would be freakin keen! My poor student finances and I will wait till the next sale ;)
Just a thought that the Red Cross is not necessarily the best organization you could be donating money to. There are a lot of well-explained reasons for this that you can seek out online if you’re interested, but that would turn this into the World’s Longest And Most Obnoxious Comment if I was to attempt to detail them all here. Some better places to donate, if you are looking to help people in Haiti, are the Haiti Emergency Relief Fund (this is an organization that was trying to help Haitians well before the earthquake made the US as a whole decide that we suddenly gave a damn about the situation over there) and www.shelterboxusa.org (I have a friend who just got back from two weeks of medical work in Haiti, and she assures me that this, above all else, is what people need right now).
To clarify, it isn’t that I think the Red Cross is bad or evil or even negligent — just that there are more, and in some cases, much better, places you could be donating to.

I got a similar one from someone on Twitter, don’t know if that was you or not. & yeah, the Red Cross is probably not the best best best organisation I could donate to, but I did a bunch of research (especially using www.charitynavigator.org) & it sounded like a good option. I actually started looking around because I wanted to give some money to the ASPCA, but then when I looked into it, I was like “Eeeeep”. Anyway, thanks for your concern. Since I’ve now said I’m going to donate to the Red Cross, obviously I’m going to do it, but I’m going to continue researching charities so I can find one that fits best with my beliefs. xo

I just bought the whole 12! I totally shouldn’t have but I decided my student loan should definitely be spent on something more worthwhile that the usual rubbish we buy (aka. books that you use once and never again!). This will help me so much more than any text book on biochemistry ever will!

Hi Gala. I don’t mean to be rude, but money was drawn from me last month for L&S, and now it’s been drawn again. And L&S haven’t arrived yet. I love the podcast, but I don’t really want to pay double when I don’t recieve anything… Can you fix so that the money is actually drawn right before each episode comes out instead of at the end of each month?
Hi Gala – I agree with Lisa. I absolutely love your podcast and I think your prices are fair and your podcasts are definitely worth it since I get so much out of them. But it feels weird paying for something that I haven’t received yet. The first time I let it go but the second time that my account has been charged I’m just wondering what’s up? Again, no disrespect or anything intended as I do really like what you do :) Just curious is all.
