Tomorrow is going to be so exciting, because I’m shooting a campaign video for Olsenboye! Oh! My! God! Olsenboye is one of three clothing lines designed by Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, & Olsenboye is the most affordable/accessible of the three.

The story: A couple of weeks ago I went to a casting for this project. Castings make me feel so awkward because I’m not a model & I have no idea what I’m doing! I was having one of those mornings where I absolutely could not dress myself. Eventually I got it together & put on this Betsey Johnson dress with my Doc Marten Regina boots. I put a cropped black velvet vintage blazer over the top, then threw on a wide black belt & a black straw boater hat. I turned up at the Dualstar offices & was shown to a room which contained the samples of the new collections from The Row, Elizabeth & James & Olsenboye!!! They pointed at the rack of Olsenboye & said, “Put an outfit together & style it up how you’d wear it”. So they didn’t even need to see what I was wearing! Haha!

I assembled a couple of outfits, did a little interview on video & gave them a couple of twirls. I walked out the door with my fingers crossed, & last Wednesday got word that they had picked me! (Yes, I almost had a heart attack.)

I had my fitting yesterday & it was really fun. It’s always really interesting to see what people who don’t know you will dress you in — I think it’s a sartorially expansive experience! The outfits I’m wearing are super-cute & they also gave me an Olsenboye FlipCam so I can record behind-the-scenes footage! I have already started using it in earnest & should have a video edited together for you by next week!

We’re shooting the video all day tomorrow in two really exciting locations, & I’m SO PSYCHED!

(By the way, since I know you’re wondering, yes, I did see Mary-Kate & Ashley when I walked in. !!! Okay that’s all.)

Beach Boys medley megamixes! reorganising my Filofax with tabs for various projects invitations to secret strega houses full of love potion tea! my confetti-filled Barbie ribbon Hello Kitty tiaras on silver glitter skulls B.o.B. really comfortable sweatshirts working on Love & Sequins #11 (you’re gonna love it!) new (to me) albums by Eminem, Paramore, The Black Keys, Crowded House, Janelle Monae & Pendulum leather leggings doing my eye make-up differently (just pale pink eyeshadow all over the lid & some light brown in the crease, & it looks SO great!) watching Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure with Mike & laughing Australia’s Next Top Model (GO KELSEY GO GO KELSEY) this photo of Dolly & her son BRUCE! “spiritual gangster” Kate’s Paperie insane thunderstorms & crazy men who hang out their windows yelling, “IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD!” looking forward to my mother arriving in NYC (next Sunday!) a huge glass of coconut water & a salad for lunch (virtue!) writing cards & letters hot pink knickers which say YES PLEASE across the booty sweatpants with heels (yep) productivity & getting things DONE!
