Things I Love Thursday

Things I Love Thursday 1. LightArt Kijkduin 2007 (CC-BY-NC, Haags Uitburo), 2. Kijkduin after dark, 3. Kijkduin Den Haag

Raw food — Dark chocolate-covered ginger, oh yes! It is insanely good, I have been eating huge amounts of it. (I buy mine but you can make your own easily!) Big bowls of guacamole (avocado, tomato, red onion, garlic, lime, salt, pepper, ground chilli — combine, then dip carrots!). Mushroom pate (sunflower seeds, mushrooms, sundried tomatos, garlic, water, salt & pepper blended)! Yum yum yum. & the best thing? My body feels really good.

When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Sh!t Gold — Atmosphere’s new album. It is great. My favourite tracks are ‘Dreamer’ & ‘Me’. To celebrate their release, they launched Paint That Sh!t Gold dot com, & if you go there you can listen to lots of the tracks as well as taking part in an awesome game. Atmosphere are on tour RIGHT NOW, so if you’re in the States or Canada you should check out the dates & get your ass to a show. I promise you will not regret it, they are my favourite music act ever. Ever ever ever. Oh & also, as part of TiLT, dreams about Slug are pretty good, too. I woke up very happy this morning! Wheeeee!

Karen Knowler — Raw saint & genius. Behold her halo! We had our second raw coaching call last night & it was just as amazing, if not more amazing, than the first one. She gave me tons of useful prompts, questions & exercises to help make my transition easier (& as soon as I post this I’m going to do my “raw homework”!). If you’re going raw as part of the iTC or are just curious, check out her free resources (I especially recommend So You Want To Go Raw?) & books, DVDs & audio. Everything she does is infused with love & passion — she is the perfect raw guide. Bless. (Oh, & I will be posting our raw coaching call as an MP3 very shortly!)

Salvador — I love my fake dog. He sits on the bed with me & watches television, it’s great. Hanging out with him often reminds of the law of attraction stories where they tell you that you should make space for whatever it is you want, so it’s more real. I feel like I’m doing that every time I see him. It’s good.

Cheerleading — A number of things. One: I still can’t believe I actually did it. I am so proud, seriously. That is so not like the old me. Two: I’m amazed at how much fun it was! Three: I’m flabbergasted by how coordinated I actually am! Man, I can’t wait to go back on Sunday. Squeal!

Reading the iTC discussion — I’m really loving hearing about everyone’s progress. It’s so cool & so inspiring to know that we’re all experiencing triumphs & issues, & it makes my heart boom with pride to see people helping one another out. The encouragement is amazing & exactly what a lot of us need. The iTC has been hard work for all of us, but you know what? If it was easy, everyone would do it! Some things are worth striving for, & we’ll get there together, I promise!

Honourable mentions — My new Bettina Liano cardigan (a great score at a clothing swap); sore legs (while it hurts, it does mean I’ve been working hard!); installation art (see the pictures above for an example — swoon); my exercise DVDs (they have all arrived, yay, & as soon as my legs stop hurting I’m going to do one!); looking forward to butoh on Saturday; planning a mini-holiday (I’m going to take four-day weekend from tomorrow, woohooooo!); eating fruit (I’m doing only fruit today, at Karen Knowler’s suggestion, to boost my energy & perk me up); having long hair (YESSSSS) & fabulous weekend plans!

Now… your turn! Lay it on thick!
