Being spotted in Time Out New York & being asked to audition for a major studio film (!!! yes of course I am going to do it!); printing some of my favourite photos & hanging them up all over International Playgirl HQ; listening to the old stuff I used to love & really questioning my 14 year old taste (Type O Negative, Coal Chamber, Sevendust?!); Common People by Pulp; Candle 79 & Inder from Matt & Nat (he has, seriously, the BEST eyebrows I have ever seen — he is also amazing company, & a Virgo!!!); hearing that something I never thought would happen actually happened; “Don’t tell me Carver can cut school just because she broke her leg in 3 places. HELLO, get a wheelchair”; Australia’s Next Top Model, season 3 (oh Paloma); getting so much great feedback on Love & Sequins #1 (thank you so much); coconut chai from Bonobos; pink blossoms everywhere; Mrs Doubtfire (“Good waste of juice”); buying lingerie from sex shops (these are so cute on); sending postcards; people who tell me they like my hair in the street; unusual dates with intriguing characters; sweet emails; mind-blowing phonecalls…
+ DJ Low Bee’s Smooth Holiday; avocado for breakfast; new shoes; butterfly-shaped sunglasses; channelling my inner Marie Antoinette (by which I mostly mean big hair with things in it, but overspending could be in there too); seeing all the green blooming outside my window; my feature in Next magazine (NZ) hitting the stands; $10 manicures; meetings which fill you with glee; good mail; being introduced to someone at a party with “She gives good Tweet”; penthouses with rooftop access; TopShop’s shoe department; condoms with my face on them; my date reviews being published in Time Out New York; old horror movies + rainy nights; Roxanne M. Carter (she has been inspiring since me since the late 90s); oh, & I get to see a cute boy tonight!

P.S. Mercury just went retrograde but we’ll survive! I was watching my horoscope this morning & Christopher said he views Mercury retrograde as encouragement to think differently & come up with new ways of communicating. Yes! V. empowering! We’ll get there!

- Friends who will skip biology with me and let me vent my problems – Working out problems with my boyfriend and feeling optimistic about the future – eating jelly beans in the sun (especially the blue ones) – Gossip Girl – giant cosy hoodies – Getting rid of a spider all on my own! – Cat Stevens – the sunshine! (rare in Aberdeen) – singing “Feels Something Like Summertime” in the shower – finally feeling brave enough to wear/buy clothes that my family or friends may not like – my liliac leggings (related to the point above :P) – Watching Twilight with my best friend and cracking up at the appalling acting – the chocolate cake that my friend’s mum always makes – the prospect of moving to London – thinking of starting my own blog, for real this time – colour co-ordinated revision folders… even if I’m not really revising with them… oops
Woah, I felt like I was having a really bad week but… this made me feel a lot better!
-drinking enough coffee every day to fill a small lake.
-SUMMER WEATHER and wearing skirts & tanks every day since I have been home. I literally thought for 10 minutes yesterday or what I loved more then summer weather and couldn’t think of anything.
-the smell of my parents house, where I am right now. Everytime I come home, I just love to breathe in how wonderful it smells.
-vin diesel. how some crushes never end…f&f love!
-new makeup (obviously).
-strawberries and angel food cake.
-driving for the first time in months.
-having my credit cards paid off for me
-being able to hug my mom whenever i want.
-laying in bed watching that 70’s show (hyde!) with the window open, painting my nails, just because i have no where to be and nothing else to do (i.e. being able to RELAX).
-looking forward to seeing someone i haven’t seen in at least two years this weekend.
-the worlds tackiest painting i got in a rummage sale, which is going to hang in my new apartment.
-thinking about what kind of kitten i want to adopt once i move.
to sum it all up in two words: RELAXATION & ANTICIPATION :D
My mother, who has done nothing but support and motivate me in my goal of losing weight!; Metric’s new album; Listening to the Harry Potter audio book on the treadmill; The Police; New Zealand’s Next Top Model, I’m favoring Teryl-Leigh and Laura at the moment; Knowing that I’ll be seeing my friends next week.
getting up at 6 AM, packing a breakfast of Oatmeal with raisins, chocolate protein shake, and milk, with music and hoop in hand, i drove to a park about an hour away, just to try and relax.
...but other than that…

- walking home through the park and seeing the first goslings and baby coots by the pond, and also the appearance of a pair of geese of a type never seen before! gotta love the birds :) – lager shandies (super-refreshing) – knowing that friends and family who’ve been in hospital are on the mend and back with their families – home-made super-hot lentil and cauliflower curry (ouch burny hot!) – memories of fun nights with men in drag.

Seeing the King Blues play tomorrow night... one of the happiest band I know, who use every instrument imaginable, sing super-positive songs, and are purely unpretentious.
Seeing the King Blues… AFTER finishing off a three hour exam that will be hard, but also fun! I love talking about the ethics of war, and I get a chance to challenge myself to write the best paper I can under time limits.
Buying heels in my size. At a size 11 US, this is a rare luxury, but when I find them… it’s love. And I do tower above most people when wearing, which I enjoy.
Having my thesis recommended... to an Ivy League professor. Academia joy!

- My mother. I love her everyday, but I really love her right now because Mother’s Day is coming up and she’s finally getting something nice from me for once.

- The feeling that my manfellow buys stuff for me while pretending he’s buying it for himself.

- Wearing more color than I normally do. I’m a black, red, gray and white kind of girl. Wearing anything else is a major leap.

after being unemployed for 3 years getting accepted for a job on the spot – not only that but being the first to have that happen out of the 100 people he had seen before me! and i get to wear all my own clothing – hell yes! no uniform!

my best friends graduation is today! its thundering and lightening which i think is smashing
baking cupcakes, caramel fudge as a present for said friend who is going to be thrilled :)
my cat being oh so cute and making me go to bed early by coming to collect me so she can sit on me and zap my heat in the cold nights

- going exploring with a friend through really architecturally strange office buildings (so she could photograph and paint them). i was wearing pink sequinned shoes and an employee having a cigarette break was SO HAPPY to see them. having the realisation – again – that offices are not for me, not ever.
- dinner parties, while wearing the best dress & shoes in the entire world – pink and cream raw silk checked 50’s dress, and black patent buckle riding boots – in an empty house, on the floor.
- spending obscene amounts of money on shiny exciting things, like enamel and perspex.
- a craving for all things charles-anastase-style bomber jacket.
- slowly cleaning out my massive vintage clothing collection to enable me to move countries in the next year, after honours.
- boys who are awesome. rescuing girls’ haircuts at ten at night, armed with my buzzer and thinning shears.
- kill pixie, who is an AWESOME artist. oh my god he makes me drool.
- not eating sugar for four days and realising that my so-called ‘normal’ mood swings are completely gone. huh.

Good food. This morning for breakfast I had a strawberry-mango-apple fruit salad with some almond butter and flaxseed. It was AMAZING. In the fridge is some leftover curry my dad made, which I’m super excited to have for lunch tomorrow.
My dog. Poor guy ripped a claw in the middle of the night Monday and he’s slowly starting to feel better.
Living at home. I am in my first year of college. This is free, and I love my parents and love being home and being able to keep my horse. I will move out when the time comes, but right now, it’s fantastic. My parents and I have now set up a regular Saturday-night movie night, we’re partway through the Harry Potter series :x
Scholarships. I just got notice that I got one — it’s one year only but next year I should be able to cut my student loans to $0!!!
My boy. He is visiting this weekend and I can’t wait to see him.
Funny relationships with ex boyfriends. He’s fun to talk to and we have a really good, casual friendship. It took a couple years to get here, and I’m glad we’re able to enjoy each other’s company. Certainly no risk of relapse, though ;)
This history paper, which I am about to go write and do a FABULOUS job on. Positive thinking, right? Right.

-Finally getting over my cold & feeling healthy again.

-My new ring that reminds me to live in an amazing fantasy world of my own creation & love every minute of it.
i have a new job and a clean apartment—two things i thought might never, ever happen!
eating well, finally having money, planning my birthday & what gifts i am going to give myself, baking, loving, feeling. i’m just happy.
a day of being completely alone ; especially ambitious changes for the home ; new things to study that involve cameras and paintbrushes, not a pile of textbooks ; returning epically overdue phonecalls ; writing that letter even though i know they’ll be back in two weeks .. thought that counts right? ; cocktail plans for a few weekends down the line ; my brilliant fake as they come tan ; cash in hand.
perhaps this will help me go into my take-home final (!) with a positive attitude…

*being stunned by the quality of the dress rehearsal for the show I’m producing – as producer you do a lot of admnistrative tasks & don’t necessarily get up close and personal with the artistic side, so it can be somewhat lonely and frustrating, but seeing what the directors & cast have put together MORE than made up for all those nights I was up till 1 answering emails
*in a similar vein, the staff of the show – they are all wonderful hilarious people and I can’t think of anyone better to have put on a show with
*SPRING
*coming up with ideas on the fly during a job interview, something I didn’t think I was capable of
*cake batter ice cream
*getting a chance tomorrow to wear my red sequined dress!

~ i’ll be studying architecture in newcastle from september!(after 3 years of doing other things i realised, that i want to be an architect. i applied, sent portfolio, waited, waited, and finaly on monday i got THE LETTER) yay!
