I’m coming to you LIVE from Las Vegas, Nevada! Land of psychedelic carpet, hedonism & the never-ending buffet! (All together now: “WHEEEEEEEEE!”)

My trip was extremely short-notice; I was asked if I wanted to go on Tuesday night! One quick look out the window (at the icy rain falling onto feet of frozen snow), & I immediately fired back, “Yes please!”

Why am I here? To cover ENKWSA, a global footwear exhibit! So excited! My idea of heaven! Shoes, shoes, glorious shoes! It’s a little cruel to be thrust into this as soon as I’ve come out of a month-long shopping detox, but what could be better than total immersion? What, indeed!

I’m sitting here in the sunken conversation pit of my hotel room–chartreuse velvet five-seater sofa & all!–half-dressed, frantically typing this out before Kelly & I have to pull together another couple of outfits & trot downstairs for more mania. It’s not all work & no play, though… Kelly just knocked on my door & hand-delivered me a whiskey on the rocks in her bathrobe. Definitely international playgirl livin’!

Okay, but I’m getting ahead of myself! Here’s what I wore for my first day in Las Vegas!

I put this outfit together in my head in New York City. It seemed like a dream; NYC has barely been above freezing all month, so the idea of actually being able to wear a sun-dress excited me WAY more than you could possibly imagine!

This cardigan is absolutely perfect. I can’t even tell you how much I love it! It’s super-soft with a crystal W+D on the front, & the illustration of the mermaid on the back is studded with tiny little sparkles. & that sexy little mermaid… So gorgeous!

After a quick stop at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (& some worship at the temple of the bunny!), it was time to hit the convention halls for some shoe MADNESS!

We roamed up & down, along miles of red carpet, ducking into booths & stands. We fondled leather rosettes & swooned over crystal-studded iPad cases (almost sexy enough to make you want an iPad!). It was a long, long, exhilarating day!
