New York Fashion Week: Photo Diary
A cushion at Betsey Johnson HQ!
New York Fashion Week is always an adventure! Between countless outfit changes, dozens of cabs & people brandishing clipboards, events are always unfolding. It was a truly action-packed week! I took plenty of photos, so I thought I’d compile them & give you a little insight into what NYFW looked like for this girl!
I started the week optimistically, thinking peppermint tea would sustain me. How naïve I was!
…The very next day, I was feeling a little worse for wear. My whirlwind trip to Las Vegas, way too much time spent in recirculated air & the extreme cold in NYC came down on me like a ton of bricks. I immediately started guzzling the ultimate plague-fighter: raw turmeric, ginger, spearmint, cardamom, lemon, sea salt, honey & cayenne… I also started popping Zicam religiously, which seemed to do the trick!

My first day of NYFW, I was followed around the city by Charlie & Yung from Onstyle Korea! They met me outside my apartment, & we went to The Lake & Stars before hitting up The Standard hotel so I could teach a blogging workshop for IFBcon, & then it was onto Rebecca Minkoff! They also interviewed me after Betsey, & we did a little piece on how I blog. Cute! Hanging out with them was great–they’re really fun!

Obviously (!!!) this is from the Betsey Johnson showroom! She hand-painted this on the wall herself. The bars going through it are usually full of clothing. Glorious!
Some shoes from Betsey’s diffusion line, Pink Patch. How badly do you need those turquoise & pink boots? SO badly!
Here’s the outfit I wore! Though sadly, the shoes didn’t make it.

The awards were held at the Trump Soho (very fancy), & I presented the award for the Best Blog. DKNY won!
Finally, sometimes you are so exhausted, all you can do is dress up your dog & take pictures.

Got trapped for ten minutes in an elevator which was packed so tightly with people we couldn’t even move–& it happened even BEFORE the FIRST show of NYFW! Lots of excellent celebrity spotting (Michelle Trachtenberg, Jessica Szohr, Lo & Stephanie from The Hills, Miss Jay [!!!], Lynn Yaeger, etc…) Got photographed by Bill Cunningham (pretty much the highlight of the week for me!) Had a cab driver who hiccuped non-stop for 60 blocks!
