Things I Love Thursday

Things I Love Thursday

Happy Thanksgiving!

I absolutely love that Thanksgiving falls on a Thursday! It’s the perfect intersection, but you don’t have to wait for one day a year to be thankful — those of you who read regularly know that Things I Love Thursday is our weekly way of expressing thanks!

Sometimes Thanksgiving can sometimes just be about the mad dash to wrap your laughing gear around some turkey — or tofurkey, if you prefer! — but this year, I’d like to encourage you to take a moment before you eat to sing out your gratitude for your lovely lovely life.

Here’s what I’ve got.

I’m so grateful to be in America. I’m so grateful to be celebrating it — for the second time!!! — with my American family (le boyf & les chiens)! I’m so grateful that Mike is an incredible cook (especially since if it was up to me, we’d be ordering Chinese food)! I’m so thankful & appreciative of the meal we’re about to eat, & how very lucky & fortunate we are to be able to do so.

I’m so thankful for my two families — in New Zealand & in America — who show me so much love & support. I’m so thankful for my friends, who make me laugh & constantly keep me looking to the future. I’m so grateful that I have such a strong group of people around me. I’m so happy that my parents & I are so close & speak so often. I’m so delighted that I live in the most exciting place (I think!) in the United States. It is still a wonder to me, even to this day.

Finally, let’s give thanks to those who came before us & gave up much.
