I’m Dreaming Of A Pink Christmas… With LOMOGRAPHY!
A very cold Sunday saw a very unlikely troupe of miscreants — galactic twins Molly Crabapple & Gala Darling, make-up artist Ashley Spedale, photographer Lydia Hudgens & videographer Ben Vogel — make their way to a community garden in the East Village. The purpose? To shoot & make magic with a selection of treasures from Lomography!
I’ve been playing around with my stripey Parisian Diana F+ for a while now, with a variety of results. Sometimes my camera just produces bright white nothingness; other times it spits out gems like this, this or this. It’s a known fact that Lomography is a delicate & imprecise art; even the company that produces the cameras says they are “charmed by the unique, colorful, & sometimes blurry” results. So it’s fair to say that we went into this adventure slightly blindfolded!
Molly & I posed against a disintegrating wall while Lydia shot roll after roll of film, & Ben filmed behind the scenes…
We were waiting on pins & needles for the film to come back, & when we saw it, it wasn’t at all what we expected! The photos are totally unique & special. Here are some of our favourites…
Now, for the really fun bit! You could win your very own box of Lomography gear — in fact, all the things we used!
The prize pack includes a Mr. Pink Diana F+ camera, an Instax back (so you can get instant photos straight out of your Diana!), a 110mm telephoto lens, a 38mm Super-Wide lens, & a bunch of color negative, color positive & expired film!
To be in for a chance to win, click here & tell us about your favourite photo! Include a link if you can! This could range from anything from a picture of you & your best friend, to a colour-soaked shot by Miles Aldridge.
The winner will be picked within 24 hours!
