SARK And Gala Darling On How To Feel Good Today

It was such a pleasure last week to have one of my all-time influences, inspirations, and mentors — the incredible SARK (aka Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy) — in my living room for an intimate, hour-long chat about what we can do to feel good in an uncertain world.

As I say in the video, I used to sit cross-legged in bookstores, devouring SARK’s books: Succulent Wild Woman, Juicy Pens Thirsty Paper, Eat Mangoes Naked, Transformation Soup, and more. I usually couldn’t afford to buy them, so I’d just read on the floor until I had to leave. Her books inspired me to continue to be myself no matter, to never give up on my creative dreams, and to be colourful and optimistic, especially when things felt impossible.

Her books helped remind me of who I truly was, and they played a major role in shaping who I am today.

Meeting her was a total life highlight, and since then, I’ve seen her every time she comes back to New York. We had such a great talk about the gifts of terrible things, how to survive when politics is such a heated topic, and what we can do every day to feel fueled up and joyful.

If you’d like to join her badass community, click here! She’s also created a brilliant mini-book called When Survival Isn’t Enough: Your Practical Guide to Creating a Life Full of Hope, Love and Joy Even When the World Seems Crazy, Out of Control, Overwhelming and Downright Disastrous, and you can download it right here!

I hope you enjoy our conversation and that it brings you lots of smiles and laughter.
